With Biketoberfest 2016 just a week away FUN Motorcycle Training “LLC” wants to share some exciting events that go on during this annual event.
Each year, nearly 125,000 motorcyclists roll into the Daytona Beach area for a multi-day, annual event called Biketoberfest. This extended weekend of fun and sun includes motorcycle shows and rallies, live music, scenic rides along A1A and other historic roadways, racing at Daytona International Speedway and vendors offering everything from the latest models to parts and accessories.
Established more than 20 years ago by the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, Biketoberfest is typically held the weekend immediately following Columbus Day with most visitors staying throughout the week. The event features a 12-mile ride along a series of scenic state and county highways in Volusia County known as the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail or ‘Loop’. Other popular rides include up and down Main Street and Beach Street, through various state parks such as Tomoka State Park and DeLeon Springs State Park and to the historic Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse, located just south of Daytona Beach in Ponce Inlet.
There’s also plenty of vibrant nightlife for Biketoberfest revelers. Famous Main Street bars like Froggy’s, Dirty Harry’s, Main Street Station and the Boot Hill Saloon offer food and drinks, as well as live entertainment and giveaways. And whether you’re beachside, on Beach Street, downtown, Midtown, along International Speedway Boulevard, in South Daytona or just north in Holly Hill and Ormond Beach, it’s nearly impossible not to find a happening place to wet your whistle and relax after a long day’s ride.
If you have the need for speed, there are also multiple motorcycle races and demos on the high banks of the newly repaved Daytona International Speedway. The party is not complete without a stop at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, home of Daytona Harley-Davidson – the world’s largest Harley-Davidson dealership and mecca for motorcycle enthusiasts.
FUN Motorcycle Training “LLC” wants everyone to enjoy Biketoberfest and ride safe!
